Premier League Men secure the 2024 Minor Premiership

August 17th, 2024

Altona Hockey Club Men's Premier League side

Congratulations to our Men’s Premier League squad, Coach Greg Drake and all off-field staff, who have secured the Minor Premiership with a big 7-1 win against Essendon today.

It is the first time since 1994 that Altona have finished top of the table for the top competition in Victoria (at that time known as State League 1), and just the 3rd time in our history along with 1987.

The men currently hold an 8-point lead heading into the final round of the season. It means they have earned the first week off in the finals series and will go straight into a Preliminary Final at the State Hockey Centre on Saturday the 7th of September.
